A new website from EngineeringUK will provide easier access to the latest thinking on how to encourage young people to consider engineering as a career.
The new Tomorrow’s Engineers website brings together free advice and guidance from the whole engineering community to support practitioners in providing young people with engineering careers inspiration.
The aim is to provide a range of resources, guidance and evidence to improve practice and the collective impact of the engineering sector .
The website includes the latest thinking on topics from how to run virtual events and tips for an inclusive approach to how to survey young people and improve outreach activities. It provides resources for practitioners that promote the wide range of careers in modern engineering; support the design and delivery of engineering activities with young people in mind; focus on equality, diversity and inclusion; and disseminate findings from research and evaluation.
It includes the latest thinking on topics from how to run virtual events and tips for an inclusive approach to how to survey young people and improve outreach activities.
EngineeringUK chief executive Dr Hilary Leevers said: “EngineeringUK’s mission is to support the engineering community in inspiring the next generation of engineers to understand the thousands of engineering roles available. We know that young people’s educational and career aspirations have already been affected by the pandemic, so it’s more important than ever that we get this type of outreach activity right.”

Teachers are encouraged to visit Neon, a digital platform that gives access to online and offline engineering outreach activities and careers resources.
