Andrew Hodgson, Siemens strategic lead for digitalisation, has been appointed as vice-president of the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA).
Mr Hodgson has been a member of the MTA board for a number of years and chairs the association’s technical committee, which looks at activities in advanced manufacturing technologies and industry standards.
At Siemens his role as strategic lead for digitalisation incorporates Siemens’ activities in advanced manufacturing technologies, such as additive manufacturing and robotics. He also champions intra-company business, enabling other Siemens divisions to maximise the opportunities presented by digital technology.
MTA chief executive James Selka said: “Andrew has been a dedicated member of our board and his level of expertise has been of great benefit to our technical committee. We look forward to working even more closely together in his new position as vice-president, especially in relation to the enormous opportunities for increased productivity in UK manufacturing that accelerating digitalisation brings.”
