On the hunt for Britain’s oldest running industrial compressor

Compressors play a big part in the industrial and manufacturing sector. Often referred to as the fourth utility, they are the silent partner powering many of the processes necessary in manufacturing industry.

In the run-up to its centenary, Atlas Copco Compressors UK is turning its attention to these silent partners. It is trying to find the oldest stationary oil-injected compressor in Great Britain, with a power rating between 30kW and 90kW, which has completed the longest tour of duty in Great Britain (and is still going!).

The reward will be the winning compressor’s long-overdue retirement, replaced by a free, latest generation Atlas Copco GA-range fixed speed compressor that offers the same level of free air delivery as the winning compressor, with the machine’s delivery to site included.

2019 is a big year for Atlas Copco Ltd, as the company will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of its establishment in Great Britain. As the second oldest Atlas Copco entity outside Sweden, it is sharing the festive spirit surrounding the centenary with this competition, among other celebrations. The company was founded in 1873, is based in Stockholm, and has a global reach spanning more than 180 countries.

If you think you could be the owner of the oldest stationary oil-injected compressor in Great Britain, with a motor power rating between 30kW and 90kW, send in your entry for a chance to win a brand new compressor.
