Two manufacturing-related shows return to the NEC for significant anniversaries this autumn.
Processing and packaging machinery exhibition the PPMA Show celebrates its 30th anniversary in September, to showcase the latest innovations in smart manufacturing, processing technology and packaging machinery.
Advanced Engineering marks its 10th year at the end of October, promising the UK’s largest annual gathering of original equipment manufacturers and engineering supply chain professionals.

PPMA will present what is said to be the biggest and most comprehensive line-up of production technology and solutions for the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, toiletries and FMCG sectors, with 350 exhibitors representing 1,500 brands under one roof. Leading companies already confirmed include Schneider Electric, Ishida Europe, Bosch, ABB and Omron Electronics UK.
New this year will be the Enterprise Zone, which will include a series of educational features including live workshops, presentations, interactive discussions, question and answer sessions and panel debate on topical issues and industry trends. The keynote address will be delivered by Lord Mark Price, minister of state for trade and investment and formerly managing director of Waitrose and deputy chairman of the John Lewis Partnership. The morning of day two will focus on The Future of Food Manufacturing, hosted by Craig Leadley of scientific, technical and advisory services organisation Campden BRI.
The PPMA Group Industry Awards ceremony and gala dinner will be held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel at the NEC on the evening of the 25 September. Closing date for entries is 31 July.

Advanced Engineering 2018 will again take over NEC halls 2, 3 and 3A and hopes to build on the success of the 2017 exhibition, where attendance increased by 15% on the previous year.
It will feature six sub-themes: aero, automotive, composites and performance metals engineering, connected and digital manufacturing, and new this year, nuclear engineering. The Open Forum conference programme will highlight the latest developments in those areas.
Last year the show attracted significant names including Airbus, Boeing, Jaguar Land Rover, Hexcel, and Dassault Systèmes.
